Our Mom's Battle with Anal Cancer

Working hard has never scared our mom. After we left Boothbay Maine for a fresh start in Southport NC 4 years ago, that is exactly what she has done to make a good life for the two of us.
Today our mom is proud of the work ethic she has instilled in us. We know that her only goal is that we grow up knowing that if we work hard enough, we will succeed in anything we put our minds to because, as a single mom, she has led us by example.
Sadly our mom, the woman we look up to and want to make proud, was diagnosed with anal cancer last week after she went through a month of excruciating pain and two emergency procedures to finally find the cause.This week she will need to have a colostomy bag put in because of the damage the cancer has already done.Her Surgeon has told us that it may be permanent.
In the upcoming month our mom will be traveling to Wilmington for chemotherapy and radiation. When or if she will be returning to work still remains unknown.
