My daughter, Ashley Reilly Lajoie has always wanted to be a mom. She has always had a special connection with children of all ages. Ashley struggles with her own medical issues, including stage 3 kidney disease. This has made pregnancy a battle but one she has fought through with undying positivity. Despite losing twins in 2016 she never gave up hope.
Our little miracle Nizabella was born on November 11, 2017 weighing in at only 1 pound. Ashley made a difficult decision to have an emergency csection because Nizzy's heart rate was dropping. Once born they took Nizabella directly to the NICU.
Both Ashley and her husband Michael have made many sacrifices during the pregnancy but now that their baby girl is in the hospital they are trying to split up time between work and spending time with their beautiful daughter. It goes without saying that Nizabella is the priority but the world keeps on spinning and other responsibilities keep knocking.
Nizabella is as feisty as they come and does not let any of the NICU nurses forget it. She has many battles of her own but takes them on with her spunky attidude. The doctors have recently informed Ashley and Michael that she has PDA. This is a condition where there is an opening in the heart and we are all hopeful we can avoid surgery at all costs. Please keep this little baby girl in your thoughts and prayers and if you can donate it would lessen the burden for this brave family. Thank you in advance.
