Our IVF journey to our rainbow baby

Hi, we’re Sabrina and Curtis.

This hasn’t been an easy journey, in fact, it’s been really difficult. We are holding on to the hope of being parents to our rainbow baby.

Through the years of infertility, we’re realized that it truly takes a village and we are forever grateful for this incredible community.

A club no one ever wants to be apart of but with the very best members.

This past Monday, our biggest fear became our reality. We found out we are losing our baby. We can’t put into words how truly heartbroken we are.

Sharing a little about us:

I’m Sabrina, I’m 35 years old, stage 4 endometriosis, adenomyosis, low ovarian reserve and a big advocate in the infertile/endo community. Since 2021 I have had 2 egg retrievals, 2 surgeries (endo excision and bowel resection) and 3 transfers, 1 pregnancy ending in an early loss. I live and breathe IVF.

Unrelated to IVF, I work in Alzheimer’s research. We have a Shiba inu dog, and we enjoy all things outdoors and cooking together. I also happen to be very good at crazy 8 countdown… ask Curtis ;)

And now a little about Curtis:

I come from a military family and have lived all over the country. After a brief stint in the army I settled into the world of fine dining and wine.

I now manage a wine business here in Ottawa and am always looking for ways to explore the world through the vine. I love cooking with Sabrina when we have time together and can’t wait to share our lives with our little ones!
