Help Sanibel's preschoolers get back to school!

The Children's Education Center of the Islands is the only preschool on Sanibel and Captiva and has supported local families, businesses and their children since it was founded in 1974. It was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian and needs CRITICAL financial support to sustain its presence on the islands. Losing CECI is not an option.

The mission of The Children's Education Center of the Islands (CECI) is to provide a nature and play-based experiential learning environment to preschool-aged children that creates a unique early childhood experience for young children to learn and grow and fosters a sustainable culture in our community. The children spend their days at CECI gardening, searching for animal habitats, and learning how to support the beautiful island they call home. Every day is a magical and unique preschool experience.

Please support CECI so we can celebrate our upcoming 50th year on Sanibel. The school's buildings were severely damaged by Hurricane Ian. The children have been scattered to different schools thorough out the area and long to be together in a place that is a second home to them. CECI is a nonprofit and has relied heavily on the generosity of the community throughout the years. Experiencing hurricane damage of this magnitude has greatly amplified our fundraising needs. We will likely lose one building and face the daunting task of a new build funded completely by donations, grants, and insurance collections.

CECI is nurturing the future conservationists of Sanibel, and they are here now! The children, teachers, and community need YOUR help in preserving this historic and necessary institution.
