Help us building a joyful and abundant homestead

Hello:)

Our names are Martina and Micke and after 6 years of looking for our dream home we finally found it. It's an off-grid stone house about 740 meters a.s.l. in the center of Italy.

The house was built after the big earthquake in 1997 and inside it's completely raw, without rooms or insulation and with no water and electricity.

We have 3 hectares of land where we want to create a regenerative farm with medicinal and vegetable gardens and few animals such as sheep, goats and chickens.

We moved here at the beginning of March 2024 even though we still don't have running water and a proper solar system. We're working on renovating the interiors, building walls with clay and straw and making floors. Micke is planning to insulate the inside of the house with hempcrete (a mix of lime and hemp) but we have a very tight budget and unfortunately natural materials, such as hemp and wood are becoming quite pricey.

We recently built a greenhouse and I'm working on the garden. Next project is going to be the bathroom and the chicken coop.
