Our Home In Hope

Donation protected
A year ago, my wife Kim was diagnosed with Stage IV synovial sarcoma. She was given just a few months to live, and we set about looking for options.

At about the same time, we found ourselves homeless and were forced to move into her sister's apartment - Kim, me and our three young boys, one of whom is severely autistic.

Through your extraordinary generosity, we found new treatments and new hope, and Kim is slowly getting better.

Unfortunately, we have seen setback after setback that has pushed against her gains. In the course of her treatment, she was diagnosed with glioma, and has had to start chemotherapy for that at the same time as the treatment for her sarcoma. Her initial disability claim was denied, and even Medicare was denied until earlier this month.
We were even able to find land to move into, a true forever home for us all to heal and be together on.

But it did not last.

The rug has been pulled out from under us, and we have lost the land that we thought we had. We were due to move onto it in just weeks, and now we have to begin again.

There is a property just down the road from where our house is currently situated that has electric, sewer and water already hooked up, and five acres, all going for $1950. This would be a really good option, except given the weather, I have not been able to work consistently for two weeks, and Kim's disability and Medicare are still pending, so we still have out of pocket expenses that we can just about cover.

But we cannot cover both.

To make matters worse, Kim's just started the more aggressive chemo to combat the glioma, so her energy levels are currently in the toilet. I actually haven't told her about what's happened yet, but she knows something's up. I'll have to tell her soon.

I cannot believe I am here yet again asking for help. Every time we make progress, it seems we are destined to be kicked repeatedly.

Please... if you can help, I beg you... we've come so far and it keeps getting taken away from us. I dont know what to do. I dont know how much more we can take, and I'm truly scared that Kim can't take a single thing more.

I'm trying to keep calm and plaster on a smile for her and the kids, but my back's against a wall here.

I am so sorry. I feel like a bloody sponge right now and you don't need to hear my sob stories. But if you can help, or know someone who can, please, please do.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
