Our Grandma's dog was attacked, needs surgery

Our Grandma's beloved Holly Mistletoe was attacked Friday evening by a Siberian Husky and is fighting for her life. Our 76-year-old Grandma ran out onto her porch and pulled the husky off and screamed for help, but before she got the dog away, it broke three of Holly's ribs, injured her lungs, bit her repeatedly, and badly tore her abdominal wall. Holly lost a lot of blood and has been in critical condition at the vet hospital for two days. She needs surgery to repair the internal and external injuries.

The story of Holly Mistletoe is one of the most amazing you will ever hear. Our Grandma is retired and Holly is her constant companion since our Grandpa died. Holly is a chihuahua-corgi mix rescue who was sent to a Wisconsin animal shelter in December 2015 from a kill-shelter in Tennessee. We found her for Grandma there. Grandma named her Holly Mistletoe because she was a Christmas gift. Since then they have been inseparable.
Holly is a certified therapy dog and she and Grandma are a team for the Canines for Christ ministry. They visit sick, lonely and grieving people at home, in hospitals and in nursing homes. Holly also takes care of our Grandma. She makes her laugh every day, and she is protective of her. She is so attached to Grandma that she literally will not eat if she is not with her. Now we need to take care of her.
The funds we raise here will be used solely to pay the vet bills for Holly's treatment and recovery. The bills are already more than $1000, and the vet says she will need at least one surgery. We have told the husky's owner about the bills and he has told us he will help but he cannot afford to cover bills this large.
Wherever she goes, Holly brightens the place. When Grandma puts the therapy dog vest on Holly, she knows she has a job, and she takes it very seriously. This is one very special little dog, and one very special Grandma, and we need your help to keep them together.
