Our Friend Jen

Hi Everyone! I am trying to raise some emergency funds for our friend Jenn. As many of you know she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in January of this year.
Unfortunately, the diagnosis came as she transitioned to a new position with a different company and does not qualify for benefits, sick time or disability. (She was only 7 days into her new role).
She was expecting to have scans done in January but due to mix ups at the cancer cross with her doctor's appointments in Edmonton she will not have her scans and appts. now until February 26th to 28th.
If the scans come back and the cancer has not spread she will be undergoing a radical hysterectomy with a recovery time of 6 to 8 weeks.
If the cancer has spread, she's been told she will not have the surgery and will immediately start radiation treatments. Everything is dependent on the scans at this point.
Jen is one of the most kind and caring people that I have ever met. She remains positive and cheerful even with all of the uncertainty in her life and has always been there for others when needed. She is always willing to help others without being asked as well.
She has applied for E.I benefits but they have not come through and even when it does it would cover at the very least her rent in Yellowknife.
I am hoping we can return the favor and help her. We can alleviate some of the stress of the financial burden she currently carries.
The costs will go towards her basic necessities as she undergoes treatment, and bills such as her utilities and food etc.
