Our favorite Mailman needs our help

Everyone’s favorite mailman Jim Evans has recently been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma that started in his throat and has metastasized to his lymph nodes.  Jim needs our help, not only is this emotionally and physically challenging for him it’s already proving to be financially challenging as  well.   Being newly diagnosed he has a long road ahead of him with many doctors appointments medical tests and treatments that will be requiring extended time off of work.  Jim has always be there to help anyone when help is needed so now it’s our turn to pay it forward.  Let’s all come together to help Jim not have to feel the effects of financial toxicity.  After a cancer diagnosis, patients and their families face many stressors, including the possibility of significant short-term and long-term financial consequences. Rising premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments for oncology treatments expose patients to significant out-of-pocket (OOP) health care spending. These direct medical costs, in combination with the indirect costs related to patients' and families' decreased work hours or loss of employment, create a perfect storm for financial devastation.
