Our family thru this nightmare

Donation protected
I'm Autumn wife to Roger Valentin and mother to our 6 kids. Life has thrown us a lot since 2019 Roger has been thru leukemia twice, a bone marrow transplant and seizures. Then on April 29th Roger had a seizure while getting off the freeway with Rayce in the car. Roger and Rayces hit a rock hill/wall going 80 plus mph. Roger has a severe TBI, broken nose, broken wrist, and more. Rayce has a moderate TBI a fractured hip, fractured collar bone, and a few other things. Both of them had their bone flaps (piece of the skull) took out right after the wreck. Roger was in a coma in Pocatello for 2 weeks until a wound on his head became infected so they sent him to University of Utah in Salt Lake where he woke up started talking, moving, wanting to go home. Rayce was flown to childrens hospital in Salt Lake. Rayce did so well he was home 4 days after the wreck. The first of July the wound on Roger's head got infected. He had phenomena and chicken pox along with the infection which caused a whole bunch of new problems. His doctor sat me down to tell me how serous Roger's condition is. She said he needed a trachea, a 12 hour surgery to put a artificial bone flap in, and a 8 inch by 3 inch preflap plus he would need a feeding tube and a colostomy bag. She warned me he may always be in a nursing home not able to move, talk, nothing. At that time Roger could give thumbs up and down when I asked questions so I asked him what he wanted. He gave me a big thumbs down when I asked him if he wanted to stop everything and let him go. On July 10th he had his bone flap put in and the preflap done. A week later he had his trachea put in. Since then he's been doing pretty good besides not moving or talking. He was sent to Vibra hospital in Boise where he spent 5 weeks then to the hospital where he got his feeding tube. On October 16th he was transferred to a nursing home in Pocatello where he's currently at. He is moving his head side to side, moved his right arm a little, tried to smile, and has cried. He still has a very long road ahead of him. We don't know if he will ever get moving. I'm not giving up on him. I'll fight for him until he decides otherwise. Rayce had his bone flap put back in on August 21st. He's done amazing but has had a lump above his ear that's concerned me so I had the doctor look at it and do a CT scan. At first his doctor didn't see any problem. He told me Rayce didn't need to see him unless something concerning happened. 3 days after he told me Rayce was good to go I got a call that he seen something concerning on his CT scan after looking at the results several times. When I went in to talk to his doctor he said he needed to trim up the metal piece that was holding Rayce's bone flap to his skull. On November 3rd Rayce went in to surgery. After his doctor opened his head up he found that Rayce's bone flap was softening. What we thought would be a quick fix turned in to Rayce getting his bone flap out again. Rayce is currently in the hospital he will go home in a day or 2 and have to be super careful until the doctor can get his artificial bone flap ordered and sent to him. Rayce will have surgery to put it in in a week or 2. Roger has always been the main financial provider while I stayed home with the kids until his second battle with cancer when I started waitressing part time. What I make is no where near enough to cover all the bills. I haven't found a second job because I've had to travel to see Roger while taking care of Rayce and getting him all the medical treatments he needs. This has been a lot the last 6 months in every way. If it could go wrong its gone wrong. On top of all of our bills we have the holidays coming up so if anyone wants to help us we could use it. We appreciate all the help in every way. If you want to pay a bill directly I will give you the info that you need. I also have venmo Autumn-Retford which I prefer because it doesn't take a portion of every donation. You can follow our story on Facebook or tiktok.
