Hello Friends!

This GoFundMe request is a bit overdue & overwhelming.

Meet Troy “the boy” Mead, a dear co-worker and friend at Nick and Jake’s. Troy has been battling a rare bone marrow cancer, volvulos (twisting of the bowels) and most recently viral meningitis and brain swelling that is a result of a recent series of surgeries. Troy spent the last two weeks at KUMed and has recently returned home.

Troy has been a rock at NJ’s over the last five years. His illnesses intensified 3 years ago and has been limited to four shifts of work a week, where he leads both the front and back of the house staff expediting almost every plate of food during lunchtime. He also serves as catering captain when he can muster the energy.

As we enter the holiday season, please pray for Troy and understand his financial situation due to his health. Troy’s twin children, Zayden and Zayli, have been cornerstones for his relentless optimism & fight!

What separates Troy is his innate ability to make people laugh while doing his high pressure job with calmness and intensity. We can’t wait to get Troy back to Nick and Jake’s. God Bless all of you for our friendship.
