Our Children's Safety

La Follette High School is an incredible place. Our teachers and administrators care about our children. They want our children to succeed.
Unfortunately the City of Madison is failing our children. The City of Madison and the Madison Metropolitan School District have failed to implement desperately needed improvements to ensure the safety of children who are trying to learn. We're talking about basic safety improvements like security cameras and locks on doors. This is unacceptable.
The City of Madison may not feel any urgency in protecting the safety of our public school children, but we as parents, grandparents and community members do.
The La Follette Booster Club would like to be raising funds for ‘nice-to-have’ things like sport team uniforms, theater costumes, smart boards and more. But at this moment, the safety of our children is far more important than anything else.
Our children deserve to be safe.
“Although the backpack searches & metal detector ‘wanding’ for each student is inconvenient, it is essential for keeping La Follette safe, extra thanks to MPD for being so patient, extremely respectful to all the students and making the process go smooth” - an LHS student

Gifts made through this effort will be managed separately from other Booster Club fundraiser efforts and will be used exclusively to improve safety at La Follette High School.
