What is Orpheus?:
Orpheus Music and Arts Festival is a celebration of DIY creativity, the great outdoors, and sustainable living. Orpheus will showcase the best of Denver's emerging talent in Glenwood Springs, at Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort through a 2 day, 1 stage festival on August 31 and September 1.
Retreat from the hustle and bustle for a weekend and rejoice in the slower pace of mountain living. Come for the music, then grab a map for the midday siesta and hike the beautiful trails of the Rocky Mountains, or take a trip into town to soak up the hot springs and craft brews.

Our Story:
While studying abroad in Glasgow, Scotland, Bridget Hartman found herself in the center of a bustling community of musicians and artists. Every night the bars came alive with the sounds of jazz jams and rock bands, and work from the Glasgow School of Art covered the streets and cafes. It was in the middle of this vibrant reality that Bridget was struck by an idea: Bring this celebration of collaborative and spontaneous artistry back to Colorado in the form of an independent music festival.
Thus, the Orpheus Music and Arts Festival was born.
When Bridget returned to the US, she quickly found a fellow dreamer in Travis Baptiste at Sunlight Mountain Resort. Together they hammered out a basic plan for the festival, but there was still much to do. And so, Bridget assembled a team of friends to tackle the momentous task of planning the event. For the past 6 months, the Orpheus Team has been making calls, applying for grants, making graphs, designing websites, and otherwise investing their time, sweat, and tears to make this outlandish dream a reality. And we've ALMOST done just that.
But, if this festival is going to happen, we need a little bit of financial help.
Funds are needed for paying venue fees, protecting festival goers (through insurance, security, and licenses), promoting/suppporting our vendors, and–most of all– paying the wonderful local artists.
We could go on and on about what your support would mean to the Orpheus Team (A LOT), but we also can't overstate the importance of supporting the exposure of local talent. This festival aims to give up-and-coming artists from Denver and Glenwood the exposure they deserve. Moreover, the ENVIRONMENT will thank you, because Orpheus is going to be a sustainable event that celebrates and protects the great outdoors.
