BIO Blind Inclusive Orchestra

BIO, Blind Inclusive Orchestra, è la prima orchestra che accoglie musicisti ciechi e ipovedenti. A pochi mesi dalla nascita del progetto, la Blind è una realtà. Nata dalla visione e dall’intuizione del compositore e direttore d’orchestra Alfredo Santoloci, docente al Conservatorio Santa Cecilia di cui è stato direttore fino al 2016, la BIO ha visto la luce il 13 novembre 2022 in un concerto che ha dato il La a questa Storia Nuova. Si tratta della prima orchestra sinfonica che accoglie musicisti ciechi e ipovedenti. L’ambizione e il traguardo da raggiungere a questo punto, è anche la realizzazione di corsi di lettura musicale in Braille per ragazzi ciechi e ipovedenti. Questa competenza, impegnativa da acquisire, consentirà lo studio e l’apprendimento da parte degli studenti musicisti, delle diverse partiture fino alla loro esecuzione in orchestra, grazie ad un metodo ideato e già collaudato dal maestro Santoloci che dirige i musicisti ciechi vocalmente attraverso supporti auricolari. L'accesso allo studio delle partiture attraverso la lettura Braille e il coraggioso metodo di direzione dei musicisti non vedenti, sarà la chiave di volta per vedere in futuro non una, ma tante orchestre con musicisti ciechi generalmente relegati ad occupazioni come quella del centralinista. Una rivoluzione etica, sociale e culturale, di cui il nostro Paese si potrà ritenere orgogliosa nella speranza che un tale progetto abbia presto un'eco planetaria. Il progetto BIO si avvale del patrocinio e della collaborazione della U.I.C.I (Unione Italiana Ciechi e Ipovedenti) e della’Associazione Sant’Alessio. Stage: Il sistema ideato dal M° Santoloci, si presta ad essere utilizzato per orchestre o gruppi musicali diversi dalla Blind. Attraverso stage o masterclass tenute dal Maestro, il “sistema” può essere esteso e presentato non solo in Italia ma anche all’estero. Access to the study of scores through Braille reading and the courageous method of conducting blind musicians will be the key to seeing in the future not one, but many orchestras with blind musicians generally relegated to occupations such as that of switchboard operator. An ethical, social and cultural revolution, of which our country can be proud in the hope that such a project will soon have a global echo. The BIO project benefits from the patronage and collaboration of the U.I.C.I (Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired) and the Sant'Alessio Association.
