SRJC Fall Class of 2015 Graduation
Donation protected
On December 12, 2015, the Fall 2015 Class of the Santa Rosa Jr College, School of Nursing, will be celebrating our graduation! In honor of this special occasion, we are asking for donations to help us with our pinning ceremony expenses.
This symbolic ceremony is as old as the nursing profession itself, it serves to welcome the graduating students into this prestigious profession. It is a traditional rite of passage that marks the completion of the nursing program. Florence Nightingale was awarded the Red Cross of St. George. She in turn presented pins to the nursing graduates. By the early 1900s, it became standard practice for nursing schools affiliated with hospitals. The pinning ceremony connects the new graduating nurses to those that came before and celebrates the completion of a rigorous nursing program.
We thank you, in advance, for your kind and generous donations and appreciate each and every person who has supported a graduate in this exciting, often hectic, life changing experience! Thank You!
