Hi Everyone,
My name is Lisa Verduzco. I've started this campaign to help raise money so my husband Ryan can have a nasal/sinus surgery performed at Stanford Hospital on 04/02/15.
Ryan & I are both self employed and full time parents to this amazing 4 year old boy Joseph. In February 2015, the 3 of us became sick with Bronchitis, Ear & Sinus Infections. Joseph & I recovered and Ryan has not.
After two rounds of antibiotics, multiple decongestants and nasal sprays, steroids & rinses, Ryan is still suffering from severe sinus pain and congestion. He wakes up throughout the night struggling to breathe. In the last month, he's getting at 3 hours of sleep a night at the most. He's began to lose his sense of smell and taste. It has taken a huge toll on him physically and emotionally. He's normally full of energy & laughter, now he's struggling to get through each day.
Ryan went to see a ENT specialist at Stanford who explained that the best solution for him would be to have a surgery to reduce the inflammation in his nasal lining and remove some of the tissue from his nose and sinuses to create more of an airflow.
With our current insurance, this surgery would not be covered since Stanford is no longer contracted with our provider. So we would basically need to come up with a little over $15,000.
We don't normally put our personal struggles on social media or ask for help but at this point, I am desperate. He is is the love of my life and I am willing to put my pride to the side and ask anyone who would listen to help me get my husband the surgery he needs so he can have his life back.
Ryan is an amazing husband and father and I cannot stand to see him in so much pain and discomfort. I just don't know what to do.
