Oppose the 60s scoop settlement

Donation protected
We are raising money to travel across the country to educate 60 scoop survivors about the proposed settlement agreement. There is a lot of confusion and 60 scoop survivors need to know the facts. We are gathering signatures to oppose the agreement so that we can present them in court. We strongly feel that the agreement is unfair and unjust. There was no widespread consultation and we are upset that lawyers are receiving 75 million dollars on the backs  of our pain and suffering.  Residential school survivors, not to minimize their experience, received much more and they were also granted an adjudication process where their compensation was based on pain and suffering experienced.  Residential school survivors received up to $250,000 for abuses suffered. We as 60 scoop survivors are being offered between 25 and $50,000.  It will most likely be on the lower end and we are signing away our rights to sue for physical and sexual abuse. We need to make sure that 60 scoop survivors understand this and make an informed decision.    As children we had no say in where we were placed...and once again we feel that we are being told what to do...We want to be a part of the process and have a say in this important matter. This issue is about our lives.  We are on a tight deadline to gather signatures to oppose this settlement.  A judge will take review these matters in early May so we are wanting to travel right away.  Any donation will be used for gas money, airfare, hotel costs and meals.
