Operation Nigeria

Have you ever heard the phrase "Feed a man a fish and you will feed him a meal, teach him to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime?"
What if you could dig a pond for a village in Nigeria and teach them life sustaining skills? They could feed their whole village and not just one man. That is what I am about to do this coming October with Back 2 Back Ministries!

The purpose of this trip is to look for opportunities to create jobs to support the widows and their families as well as the orphans. The goal is not to give a hand out, but to give a hand up. We will be focusing on healthcare, education, and economics.

We will be working with entrepreneurs to help them accelerate their businesses in an economic zone that Back 2 Back Ministries  and Self Sustaining Enterprises have partnered to create to support the village. This 75 acre economic zone is used to educate the people and teach them how to develop life sustaining skills.

Some of the current programs that B2B has started include a chicken farm and co-op, a pig farm, a small business plant nursery including a tree and nut farm that provides food for the orphans and widows. I will be training and supporting the people on how to better utilize their skills to multiply their efforts and further their crop.

I will also be working with children from the Hope program. The Hope program takes children in villages that are at risk and helps them finish their education by assigning them house parents to help them with their school and life skills while caring for them. Back 2 Back has also started a small preschool for early childhood development.

This is where I/we need your help. Please pray for us. Pray for safety, wisdom, impact, and the ability to share/show Christ love to them. I/we also need funding. The trip costs are about $3,500. I have started this GoFundMe page if you are able and willing to support me on this trip. Any amount can and will help. If I am blessed enough to surpass the $3,500 I will take extra supplies (clothing, medicine, anything...I am open for suggestions) and leave them for the people.

We only have one chance to live. Our lives are short. I want to serve others and help make a difference for as many people as possible. When our children are old enough I hope to take each of them to teach them to appreciate what we do have and to give, sacrifice and serve others. This is an eye opening experience I want to share with as many people as possible. I encourage you to take a trip, step out of your comfort zone and sacrifice to serve those in need.
