Operation Health for MattShotcha

On Tuesday, Sep 5, Matthew was taken to the emergency room for severe abdominal pain and vomiting. It was learned that he has Diabetes and was in Diabetic Ketoacidosis. A condition that sent his body spiraling towards complete cellular shutdown. Thankfully, the hospital was able to diagnose and treat him. He was on numerous IVs during the course of his stay to lower his blood sugar level, stabilize his electrolytes and provide his body the potassium and insulin it was dangerously lacking.
Now home, Matt, his wife Kiersten, and their one year old Moxie, face the challenge of of managing Matt's diabetes through medication and diet. Their bills for the hospital stay and their initial supply of insulin have not been entirely covered by insurance. While they focus on Matt's recovery we would like to lessen the financial burden by setting up this gofundme account. Matt has dedicated countless hours to a community and a job that he loves, we would like to give back.
The first month of medicine alone costs $600 and his insurance could require $6000 deductible toward the cost of staying in the hospital. The family is still determining the total costs, but anything you could give now would be a blessing.
