Operation Find Brian A New Heart

Donation protected

Brian was born on June 30, 1992. As he was being checked for release from the hospital, the doctor heard something that did not seem right. After a few tests, Brian was rushed to Yale New Haven hospital for the first of many surgeries, due to severe congenital heart defects. His parents never left his side while he was undergoing these life saving surgeries. Brian grew up in a loving family, with two brothers. Although he could not participate in a lot of activities, he has always been on the sidelines, cheering on his brothers and friends. He excelled in school, always determined to be the best at everything he did. At age 13, he had a setback which required another surgery. He continued to excel at school, receiving his high school diploma and learned a trade as a machinist. He is employed in that trade to this day. He has never let anything get in the way of his goals, despite the cards he was dealt in life. In 2015, he received a pacemaker. He continued to work and did well, until this year. He has had four surgeries and was admitted to Yale again on September 10th. He has since been transferred to the ICU unit at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, where he is having expedited tests to get listed for a heart transplant. Because of his anatomy and complications, there are only four hospitals in the Country that can handle this situation. Brian has always been a race fan. Comparing his current situation to racing, it will be like taking a motor out of a diesel truck and making it work in a formula one race car, all while it is still running. To this day, his parents have never left his side. There are mounting bills, his parents have put their successful business on hold and they are there with Brian 24/7. This will be a long road for the family and especially Brian. The family has asked for nothing but prayers for Brian, to make 2017 not only his worst year, but also his BEST. Any donation amount is appreciated and will help ease the tremendous burden being placed on the family and allow them to continue focusing on Brian’s recovery.
