Operation Bean!

Café X: By Any Beans Necessary is a worker-owned cooperative coffee shop created to support disenfranchised communities through social, cultural, and economic engagement. Our vision inspires connected communities, generational wealth-building and embraces full ownership of the time, talents and abilities of our membership and community stakeholders.

This is our second funding push. This time we are asking our beloved community to support us in securing operating and capital funds to move into our new location! We officially transitioned OUT OF the College Area Business District. It was bittersweet. There we hosted private events, meetings, workshops, community conversations, open mics, and more - in addition to selling delicious coffee and tea. We are looking for new locations in Central San Diego. 


Your contribution will help us pay our worker-owners a livable wage, purchase furniture, buy materials for our students to become trained baristas and entrepreneurs, create new media projects and art; and more.

We appreciate all the love and support given thus far and are excited for the next chapter in our journey!
