Send Ryan to Florence to Study Opera!

My name is Ryan James Monroe, I am a native of Saint Petersburg, Florida and am now a rising junior at Elon University, double majoring in Music Theater and Arts Administration with a minor in Business Administration. In hopes of enhancing my education and extending my worldview I have applied and have been accepted to study abroad in Florence, Italy for the fall semester of 2014! This is something I didn't think would be possible because not a lot of schools make it easy for double majors to study abroad due to their large course load, however, Elon is an exception! In Florence, I will be studying art history, Italian literature, Italian language, and on top of it all I will be studying voice!!! Being trained classically in Italy has been a dream of mine since I began to sing, which was a very long time ago.

Unfortunately, my family and I are in a bind financially as it has already been a struggle to get money to pay my normal tuition, so as you can imagine, it now seems impossible for me to afford to go to Italy. I come here humbled, asking for your help. This educational experience will change my life for the better, not only making me a better student or performer but a more well rounded person.
