Opening Doors for Dawn

Dawn (Aguilar) Black (44) has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. This disease is chronic and progressive affecting the central nervous system. The nature of this illness causes severe weakness and wasting of the skeletal and bulbar muscles.

Dawn is a lifelong resident of Little Ferry. She attended the Little Ferry Public schools and graduated Ridgefield Park High School in 1991. Dawn is the daughter of Sharon and Samuel Aguilar.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for Dawn to access her home, where she lives with her husband, Steve, and her sons, Stephen and Shane. She is in need of a roll in shower, home modifications, and assistance in medical expenses.
