Katie is a shy, sweet,9 year old who wrote a letter to President Obama asking for advice on how to make friends. Touched by Katie's letter, President Obama wrote back to Katie. This year he invited her to go to the White House Easter Egg Roll. She will also be given a private tour of the white house by the Executive Correspondant to the White House!
Aside from this being a huge honor, this has been a wonderful boost for Katie. She started out a little rough in life, needing four surgeries before the age of four. This gave her a little setback, but she rallies daily.
She has been fighting anxiety and depression since.
Since receiving this invitation, Katie has been truly blossoming. She smiles more, plays more and is feeling more self-confident. I really want to make this happen for Katie. Being a single income family, it will be challenging. Any help to make Katie's dream a reality would be a blessing! Many thanks!
