Kenya Mission Trip
Donation protected
My name is Mary Morrall and I believe it is God's will for me to return on my second trip to Kenya in the city of Nairobi with World Hope Missions in June 2015.
Last year was my first ever missions trip and I cannot describe what an impact it had on my life. My husband passed away shortly before and I found out about the trip from my pastor while we were planning his funeral service. I just knew I was to go on that trip. I remember the emotion I felt just landing in the city and recalling my husband and how he and I had planned going on mission trips together before he became ill. I looked like a fool, but I cried as we waited in the airport to get our visas, my soul so overwhelmed with excitement.
The minute we arrived at the church and school at World Hope Center I fell in love with the children and staff. It is a remarkable haven of hope in the center of Kawangware Slum, East Africa's second largest slum. I knew somehow I would be returning again, hopefully yearly, if God wills.
As a registered nurse, my primary function will be the same as it was last year; to perform visual exams for the school children and the local adults. We will distribute donated eye glasses based on prescriptions utilizing an auto refractor machine provided by the organization Mission Vision. I will also assist in other nursing duties in the medical clinic to do whatever I can to serve these precious people.
The staff of the church, Hope Accaemy and Senior school to me , are simply performing miracles reaching theses kids with the limited resources at hand. They need our help and as a member of the body of Christ, I am ready to go, but I need your help to get there.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my goal and for asissting in any way you can financially. I would also deeply appreciate your prayers for travel mercies and for the hand of God to move during our trip.
If you are able and willing to assist but prefer to give in another manner, you may go to the World Hope site and donate under my name.
I also ask if you would consider becoming a monthly partner with World Hope. Check out the site and find out what great work is being done both here in the USA and abroad.
