Oneida Little Cedar Library Project

The goal is to place three Little Cedar Libraries across the Oneida Reservation and to fill them with books by Native authors, including Oneida authors. Native American children's books as well as books covering culture, history, and contemporary issues of Native people will be available for free at these libraries.
We hope to place one Litte Cedar Library in front of Oneida's Green Earth Branch Library, which is temporarily closed due to Covid-19, one in front of the Turtle School, and another near the Duck Creek Bridge next to Mason street.
The idea for this project came from a live-streamed conversation between the President of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, Shannon Holsey, and the internationally known musician, Wade-Fernandez.
Each Little Cedar Library costs between $300 and $400 to build. To reach our goal of placing three libraries in Oneida we're hoping to raise $1,200. Please support this effort by contributing what you can.
