One child at a time - UCESCO AFRICA

Hi, my name is Leticia and I started my journey as a volunteer at Ucesco Africa, Nairobi at the beginning of January. I decided to open this fundraiser to help this association that works every day to run schools for children and teenagers, to grow new minds and be able to change the future of this country one child at a time.

The proceeds would go entirely to the schools and the community. The resources here in Kenya are scarce, the children are eager to learn but they don’t have the means to. So I would first use the money to buy books, stationery and games and then, depending on the proceeds, I would like to help with the improvement of the school building. Also, I would like to help the community, the families that live in the slums of Kibera face difficulties that we can’t even imagine every day and the least I can do for them is try and help with a basic grocery shopping, hoping to bring a little bit of joy and relief.

Ciao, mi chiamo Leticia e ho iniziato il mio percorso come volontaria presso Ucesco Africa, Nairobi all'inizio di gennaio. Ho deciso di aprire questa raccolta fondi per aiutare questa associazione che lavora ogni giorno per gestire scuole per bambini e adolescenti, per far crescere nuove menti e poter cambiare il futuro di questo Paese un bambino alla volta.

Il ricavato andrebbe interamente investito per le scuole e per la comunità. Le risorse qui in Kenya sono scarse, i bambini hanno tanta voglia di imparare ma non hanno gli strumenti, quindi prima di tutto userei i soldi per comprare libri,cancelleria e giochi e successivamente, in base al ricavato, anche per portare delle migliorie alla scuola stessa.

Inoltre, vorrei aiutare anche la comunità in generale, le famiglie che vivono nelle Slums di Kibera affrontano ogni giorno delle difficoltà che noi non possiamo manco immaginare e il minimo che posso fare per loro è provare ad aiutare con una spesa base, sperando di dare un pò di gioia e sollievo per un pò.
