OMNIKA Tours Fringe Festivals!!!

Donation protected

Vancouver’s theatrical dance troupe Omnika In Motion will be travelling to perform their first feature-length production Echoes this summer at the Toronto and Edmonton Fringe Festivals - and they need your help to get there!

Echoes is the culmination of a year of inspiration, crafting and collaborating- since its first half-hour rendition this past summer on Shambahla’s Grove stage, the 7 dancers of Omnika have been intrinsically involved in every facet of the show’s creation and metamorphosis, resulting in a successful February debut in Vancouver to our supportive community.  Echoes is a show on the nature of our Shadow selves- how the denial and projection of these aspects affect one’s internal, external and interpersonal experiences.  These themes are explored through a blend of each dancer’s unique style of movement alongside aerials and shadow play.

Omnika In Motion is excited to bring this labour of love to new audiences across Canada, and your contributions will go a long way to help this team of talented ladies get there!

More About Omnika In Motion:

Starting in 2013 as a skill-sharing collective in Vancouver, Canada, Omnika In Motion has since evolved into a multidisciplinary performance company that has featured numerous dancers, circus artists and theatre professionals.  The women of Omnika represent both the intersection of various cultures, backgrounds and identities, and the communal love of crafting unique and evocative experiences through the shared language of dance and performance. They have performed at various events and festivals throughout Alberta, BC, and California-  including multiple appearances at Shambahla Music Festival, Cirque de la Nuit, and Tribal Fest- for audiences of all ages. Omnika invites you to journey with them to a place where certainty and fantasy dance together.

Budget:

Listed below is a summary what the members of Omnika have already spent building this project, as well as what we projected expenses getting to and at the festivals. While we do expect to have further expenses over the coming months leading up to the summer, this offers a baseline of costs. Your contribution will firstly be going towards travel expenses to help ensure that none of the dancers will have to pay out of pocket.
