Olivia's India Study Abroad Fund

Hello family and friends! This summer I have the incredible opportunity of studying abroad in India. After the study abroad program ends I also have been given the opportunity to stay in India for an unpaid Internship with the Walmart Global Office located in Bangalore. Although this will a financially straining experience I know that it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain international experience in such a growing and emerging country.

I am not going on this program because I think it will be fun. I know this will be one of the most challenging experiences of my life, but I also know it will be one of the most rewarding and insightful times of my life. The study abroad program itself costs over $9000. The Internship is unpaid and is two months long in which I will have to pay for my own housing, transportation, and food. Although it will be a challenge to go the whole summer working without pay, I know it will be worth it to have international experience under my belt when I am looking for a job my senior year. 

The study abroad program will show me so many aspects of different cultures and help me grow so much as a person and as a student. The internship will be such an important part of my life, and give me the opportunity to get a taste of what I will be doing in my career after college.
