UPDATE: Thank you to all who generously donated! We exceeded our goal and are excited to gift the Olivers with this outpouring of practical love this holiday. I've closed the donation option in the GoFundMe and will be delivering the check to the Olivers on Christmas Eve. If you haven't heard, Andy's doing great and is recovering at home. The procedure was very successful and the prognosis remains good. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement to their family!
Our friend and brother Andy was unexpectedly diagnosed with Kidney Cancer this fall.
Andy will be undergoing surgery to remove the Kidney completely, and the prognosis at this point is thankfully pretty good. First and foremost, please pray for the surgery (Dec 14) and for a full recovery.
But they still face several really difficult long months, especially considering Kim will be parenting four kids during a pandemic while Andy works to get back to full capacity after surgery. As you can imagine, this is major surgery which requires quite a bit of recovery time.
There's a lot of people who love Andy and Kim and want to support and love them during this hard time. Medical expenses are covered for now. And meals are being covered elsewhere (see below). But due to COVID restrictions, many of the other ways we should show them love are restricted.
We're setting up this GoFundMe page as a means to gift them a few house repair projects they've been putting off . There are multiple odds & ends projects that would be good, and we'll see which ones are feasible based on the donation total.
Any donation you can give that make them feel cared for and supported will be fantastic. They've invested so much in their community and friendships over the years, it would be amazing to return the blessing. Please consider this an opportunity to love them abundantly while they face stress and difficulty.
