Though we knew this day would come it is hard to believe it has actually arrived.
The past few days have gone by in a blur as we tended to Dads basic of needs. This morning (3 July @ 2:07am) Dad passed at home surrounded by the love of his family. Now it is left to us to come to terms with this new reality.
Dad's life has been filled with so many precious relationships--from family, to friends, church brothers and sisters, temple workers, and work colleagues, many of whom we call family too, along with our friends who have come to know dad as a friend, a confidant, a second dad, a mate, and the man who has helped to shape us, his children, to be the people you love. And we have loved every opportunity over the past few weeks that we have had to be able to reconnect with so many of you.
As we have shared this news with you, so many have asked, "What can we do?" or said "Please let us know what we can do to help at this time."
We are appreciative of all contributions that have been made towards Dad's funeral costs thus far. As Dad was with us longer than expected many resources have gone to making his life and days at home as comfortable as possible.
In talking as a family, the best way you could continue to help support our family at this time, would be to help ease the burden of the funeral costs that must now be met. We appreciate any contribution you might be able to make and anticipate that the generosity mum and dad have shown to so many over the years, might now return to them at this time of need.
