Anyone that knows Austin knows that he gives tirelessly of his time and energy to countless friends and even strangers—most notably volunteering at the Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camp for over 30 years—but he would never ask for help for himself. Why should he when he has such magnificent family and friends? We are asking for help as Austin recovers from hip replacement surgery. Please consider giving $25, $50, $100, or give whatever you can afford. Also, please “like” and “share” this campaign through all your social media platforms.
Over the past few months, Austin has had increasing difficulty walking and steadily increasing pain. At first he thought it was a bum knee. As it turns out, according to his doctor, Austin “has the hip of an 80-year-old” and needs hip replacement surgery. While Austin would love to retire like an 80-year-old man, life is just not cooperating right now. Like all of you, he’s got bills. Austin works very hard and needs this surgery in order to continue doing so. At this time, Austin hopes to schedule the surgery for the first week of April. That means we have less than 1 month to reach our goal!
Austin stands to lose approximately $4,000 in lost wages for the time he won't be able to work while recovering from hip replacement surgery. We are estimating that between his deductible and the remaining portion of the surgery cost not covered by his health insurance, Austin will owe an additional $6,000. Our top priority is to replace Austin's lost wages so that he can continue to cover his living expenses for the 8 weeks that he needs to recover from surgery. Any funds raised above his living expenses will go towards his medical bills. In the event that we raise an amount higher than Austin's expenses, proceeds will be donated towards the Muscular Dystrophy Association annual summer camp.
