Ola’s 10k run

Donation protected
July 2016, at the age of 19, I was diagnosed with cancer. A week prior to the official diagnosis I had two operations within the span of 3 days were they performed a pericardial drain on my heart and removed a lump from my neck, to do a biopsy. The results came back positive for stage four Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This is a type of blood cancer which effects a certain type of white blood cells, Lymphocytes, which in turn affects your lymph nodes and how your immune system works.

I completed eight month treatment plan consisting of six cycles of Chemotherapy. Unfortunately, doctors were not 100% certain that I was cancer free so I had to also undergo Radiotherapy sessions. Throughout this whole ordeal it was the support and love from my family and close friends which helped me through this. The support of the Teenage Cancer Trust also played a massive part in providing me with the best treatment possible and helping me to still live an optimistic life.

I made a promise to myself that if I got better I would do my best to try and support young people like myself who are going through similar situations. In order to fulfill this promise, a few friends and I will participate in a 10K run on the 28th May to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and all proceeds will go towards helping a young person going through this difficult time.
