Central Elementary VEX Robotics
Donation protected
Here at the Central Elementary School in Longmont, we are very excited to have a 2nd/3rd grade team of 6 students, the Flying Hamburgers, be invited to go on to the VEX Robotics World Championship this April in Louisville, Kentucky.
But they need YOUR help. We hoped the students learned a lot in the program, and had a good time, but this was a really great surprise. We would love to have these students continue to work on their robots and compete at this level in April.
Twenty-six of our Central Elementary students worked very hard in our second season of VEX IQ Robotics Club. Student teams from 2nd to 5th grade built robots to solve a problem, worked on driving skills, and learned to program it to drive on its own. They competed in three regional competitions, and three of our seven teams went on to the State Championships!
Please consider a donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to help them get to Kentucky and compete in this exciting engineering program!
All donors - personal or corporate - will be listed on the team’s Championship t-shirt (unless you opt to make a confidential donation) as a token of our thanks. Donors are also welcome to join family, friends, and the Central Elementary community for a viewing party of their competition at the Central Elementary gymnasium mid-April (details to come). There, we will be able to watch them compete in real time and root them on from here in Longmont!
Help us reach our $5,000 goal to help send these 6 students, parents, and advisors to the VEX World Championship.
Online donations are due Friday, April 10th. Direct donations by cash or check, accepted at the school, are due by Monday, April 13th.
Can you get something cool for a silent auction? We'd love it! Adventures, tech toys, food, gift certificates - all are accepted for our upcoming Silent Auction! Email Scott (below) for details. Thanks!
