Ohio Cardinals Bus/Van Fund

TakeCh9rge (Ohio Cardinals) is a non-profit community football and cheerleading program located in the Glenville neighborhood. We are much more than football and cheer. In 2011, the Cardinals were formed to help boys and girls ages 6-14 become great students, athletes and pillars in their community.  We strive to help our community's children "Take Charge" of their lives by enhancing social/life skills, such as, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship and discipline, using sports as the draw.  Our children and families face many challenges everyday and we try to remove those obstacles.  Currently transportation is a issue for many of our kids.  Our neighborhood is not safe.  We hear gunfire daily while at practice.  Some parents do not have the means to get kids to practice and because of that, it becomes the coaches duty to pick up and drop off kids on a daily basis in order to keep them safe and also to allow them to play the game they love.  Our coaches all volunteer their time for the children and practice occurs after the coaches have put in long hours at various jobs.  Some coaches have trucks and SUVs, while others have smaller vehicles that they use to transport kids. The cost of gas, mileage, loading and unloading kids and equipment can take a toll on your vehicle.  This is done 4 days per week and in most cases.  2-3 hour practice with the kids in the evening

With the season starting soon, we are in need of a 15 passenger van or Bus to transport equipment and children to and from practice as well as games. We would like to purchase a van by the end of August 2018.  We would like to raise $5000 to purchase a safe and reliable vehicle.
