Nikki's Adaptive Tricycle

Hi my name is Shane and I am a single parent of an Autistic, Epiletic, Developmentally Delayed daughter Nikki who will be turning 18 this month on the 27th, I have been raising her on my own for the past 14 years which she is dependent on me for all her needs and personal needs and it has been the most challenging and by far most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. Over the years I have tried to find things that Nikki can adapt to that may bring her some form of joy. When she first started to learn to swing I built her a large wooden swing in our backyard that has  astro carpet and padding incase she falls, and everyday that the weather permits she is out back for hours swinging, the smile on her face says it all, she is in her little heaven. I say that because even though she'll be 18 she has never said a word do to the brain damage she has that prevents her from speaking. This year in her senior year at school the began to teach her to ride an adaptive tricycle and with promting and someone helping her steer she has found another activity that brings a smile to her face that unspeakable joy you see in her eyes. Which is why I am here I would love to get her an Adaptive Tricycle to ride at home but the ones that are equipped with the safety equipment needed for her to ride safly cost $2069 and it always seems that anything that is for special needs kids is so expensive. I would love to be able to get her one for her birthday so that we can go on our walks with her riding the adaptive tricycle instead of having to sit in her wheelchair which is needed for any long walks, she is ambulatory but only for short specific distances. I would appreciate any considerations towards this goal and I know if Nikki could thank you she would be ever grateful.
