In Memory of Officer Ryan Lanza

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share the story of Ryan Lanza, a 28 year old Camden County Corrections Officer and fitness enthusiast .
About one year ago, after completing his regular tour of duty at the Camden County Corrections facility, an otherwise healthy Ryan suffered a seizure while sitting in his parents kitchen. After his parents made the shocking discovery, they quickly had him transported to the nearest hospital. The staff knew that they were dealing with something that needed more attention than they were equipped to handle, prompting the immediate transfer over to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Upon arrival, the team of medical professionals over at Jefferson immediately conducted all of the testing they felt was necessary. Unfortunately, the seizure was found to have been caused by a tumor attached to Ryan's brain. This was not the news Ryan nor his family had been expecting.
After several hard--but bravely fought--months of chemotherapy, radiation treatments and brain surgeries, Ryan defeated the disease! He fought hard to get back to his normal routine of working at the Corrections Facility and getting back to the gym, his favorite place to spend his free time. He was able to get back to his normal habits well before his doctors ever imagined due to his strong urge to defeat the disease and not allow anything to bring him down!
With cancer well into Ryan's rear view mirror, he returned to work serving the citizens of Camden County as if nothing ever happened. Most importantly he began looking to a future with his fiancee, Jennifer.
The couple recently built a brand new home and are now in the process of moving in. The future was looking great!
With things appearing to be back to normal, the unthinkable has happened. Ryan's cancer has indeed returned.
His team at Jefferson has informed him that the site of his previous tumor apparently had small cancerous particles that broke apart and spread to his spinal cord. The cancer is very aggressive and extremely difficult to treat.
We are asking for your support to help Ryan's family and fiancee with his medical expenses and newly acquired mortgage payments during his second courageous fight with cancer.
