Officer David Edwards Healing Fund

Sky Valley Officer David Edwards "Rooster" was in a horrific vehicle accident on 10-24-2017 between Wahallah and Seneca, SC.  He was returning home to Rabun County, Georgia from a short trip to pick up materials for his Army National Guard Active Duty Training and Leader Course the next week and to pick up a 4-wheeler to surprise his grandchildren (and his wife :) when a truck stopped quickly in front of him and he swerved to avoid the truck and drove off an embankment.  

Officer Edwards is currently at Northeast Georgia Medical Center being treated for a broken right hip, broken left tibia and fibula, broken bone in his face and multiple lacerations and contusions.  He is undergoing surgery Thursday, October 26th.

Officer Edwards will be cared for by his wife Lisa once he is released from the hospital.  Lisa is employed by the Sky Valley Country Club, but she is a seasonal employee with the golf season coming to an end.  Officer Edwards has been a police officer for the City of Sky Valley since 2006 and has been a certified police officer since 1986.  Officer Edwards also serves his country in the Army National Guard.  

Officer Edwards is going to have months of recovery and rehabilitation to walk again.  He is extremely hopeful that he will recover fully and be able to return to his lifelong career in public service.  We know there is going to be a massive financial burden on this family once his sick leave and vacation time are exhausted through the city.  We are asking for help before the situation becomes dire. There is going to be extra expenses for medical treatment, travel back and forth to medical providers in Gainesville, GA, loss of income by Officer Edwards and his wife, and the inability to provide for the essential needs of the family.  We pray that we can raise enough money to keep this family on their feet until Officer Edwards and his wife Lisa are able to return to work.  

Every dollar we can raise for Officer Edwards and his family is one less dollar they will have to stress about until there has been time to heal and return to work.  Please help us in lifting this family up and making their journey less stressful.
