Not knowing what was really going on over the last 10 or so years I found out late in December 2014 that I have had Diabetes all this time. I’m now working with diet and medications to get that under control.

In January my blood test showed high levels in my liver, so my Doctor ordered an ultra sound of my liver, that didn’t give a very clear picture. She wanted to rule out Cancer so she referred me to a specialist who ordered an MRI that showed several spots that had a high likelihood of being Cancerous on my liver. They wanted a second opinion and look. I was sent to Providence Liver Cancer Clinic for a CT Scan. Now they have a good view of my liver. It appears I do have cancer of the liver. They ruled out a transplant because of the number of spots on my liver. Other than the cancer my liver is healthy therefore there are two other options; one is treat with oral medication, the other is blast my liver with microscopic radioactive beads. Both are very expensive and my insurance will only pay a small portion of the cost. We are going to liquidate our timeshare in Hawaii among other things. Even with this we will only be able to cover a small portion of the remaining expense.
