AN INDIGENOUS LEAD BLOCKADE TO PROTECT OLD GROWTH FORESTS
All life depends on the Cedar.
Without the ancient cedar trees, the Wolf and the Bear do not eat. The salmon bearing rivers and creeks, like the Caycuse, Haddon, and Fairy rely on the Cedar. The forest floor and her interconnected relationships rejuvenate through the Cedar.
Cedar is life on the West Coast.
The Ocean Wolves of Caycuse (OWC) are formed out of the Cedar’s urgent need for protection. Indigenous led on the Pacheedaht and Didihdat territories of the Nuu Chah Nulth Nation, the OWC join the cedars on the land to protect the ancient old growth forests from clear-cut logging.
Many of the Cedars in this region are hundreds of years old, some over a thousand; sprung to life before colonizers ever set foot on the continent. The Ocean Wolves of Caycuse, lead by matriarch, Indigenous sovereignist, and traditional midwife Queen Sacheen Seitcham, will put an end to industrial encroachment and destruction of these ancient forests through re-occupation of the land.
The Ocean Wolves of Caycuse need your support to succeed!
Big logging corporation Teal Jones with the blessing of the colonial government under John Horgan and the NDP, intend to remove old growth from the unceded and unsurrendered territories of the Pacheedaht and Didhdat.
When Indigenous land is under attack, we stand up and fight back.
We ensure Indigenous warriors on the ground have the resources they need to fight ongoing genocide. We have their backs! We know that the only answer is "LAND BACK".
