Je m’appelle Glenn MacArthur je vis dans le Queyras dans les Hautes-Alpes, j’ai 18ans, né le 02/12/2000. À côté du vélo je suis en 2ème année de STAPS à Chambéry et je passe mon monitorat de Ski Alpin.
Depuis 6 ans je fais du VTT Enduro en compétition, une discipline du VTT qui se pratique en montagne, sur des tracés naturels très techniques où le pilotage et la forme physique sont tous les deux importants.
Après plusieurs années de compétition au niveau régional et national (Coupe de France) je me lance à l’international avec ma première participation en Coupe du Monde EWS en Mai 2018, l’Enduro World Series est le circuit international d’Enduro reconnu par l’Union Cycliste International. En EWS je cours en catégorie d’âge U21 (moins de 21 ans).
Depuis mes débuts à l’international j’ai énormément progressé en compétition tout en restant très peu aidé financièrement. J’appartiens à un petit club, je n’ai aucun suivi d’entraînement de haut niveau, et des énormes frais matériels. Malgré mes performances j’ai toujours eu un budget très limité.
J’ai enchaîné les podiums au niveau national jusqu’à remporter fin septembre 2019 le Trophée des Nations en Italie, la course amateur des championnats du monde, ma première victoire à l’international.
En 2019 je termine 21ème au Classement Général des Coupes du Monde. J’ai participé à seulement trois manches malgré le fait que je sois qualifié pour les huit du circuit parce que mon budget ne me permettait pas de me déplacer en dehors de l’Europe.. J’ai terminé dans le Top 15 à toutes les manches auxquelles j’ai pu participer (France, Italie, Suisse).
2020 sera ma dernière année en catégorie U21 c’est pour ça que j’ai l’énorme objectif de faire une saison complète d’EWS et ses 8 manches pour être enfin compétitif au classement général, je vise un Top 5 même si bien sûr je rêve d’un podium.
La saison EWS 2020 compte 8 dates:
Colombie, Chili, France, Italie, Slovénie, États Unis, Canada, Suisse. Du mois de Mars jusqu’à fin Août. Cela représente un budget (voyage, logement, frais d’inscription) de près de 12 000€.
Que ce soit pour payer mes billets d’avions pour l’Amérique du Sud ou pour racheter une paire de plaquettes de freins j’ai BESOIN de votre AIDE !
Aidez moi à réaliser mon objectif de courir aux 4 coins du monde et de faire partie des meilleurs vététistes mondiaux !
Je suis titulaire du Statut de Sportif de Haut Niveau à l’USMB pour avoir des études aménagées. Je suis aidé au niveau du matériel par SANTA CRUZ BICYCLES et financièrement par l’ODT du Queyras, mon Club le Veloroc Guil Durance, la Mairie de Château Ville-Vieille et le Club Élite Hautes Alpes.

My name is Glenn MACARTHUR, I am an18 year-old mountain bike racer from the french alps.
After several years of racing at national level I started racing EWS World Cups in May 2018. The Enduro World Series is the UCI international series for Enduro mountain biking. This is a mountain bike discipline where we compete in wild mountain conditions where both technical prouesse and physical condition are important. I compete in the U21 category (under 21 years old).
Since I started International racing I have improved a lot, despite not having any proper support. I belong to a small club, have no personal trainer and have lots of materiel expenses. Despite my results I still only have relatively small sponsorship.
After being on the podium of several national races. I won the trophy of nations in Italy in September 2019. My first International WIN.
In 2019 I finished 21st in the overall world cup series having only raced in 3 out of the possible 8 rounds because I didn’t have the budget to travel outside of Europe, even though I was qualified for the full season. In each of the 3 rounds i raced, in Italy, Switzerland and France, I finished in the Top 15.
2020 is my last year in the U21 category, that’s why I have the huge goal of competing in a full EWS season and all the 8 rounds. I’m aiming for a Top 5 place overall, even if my dream is to be on the podium.
The 8 rounds of the EWS season are held in Columbia, Chile, France, Italy, Slovenia, USA, Canada and Switzerland between March and August 2020. The season will cost me 12,000 euros for travel, accommodation and registration fees.
Whether it’s to help pay for my flights to South America or just to buy some new brake pads I NEED your HELP !
