Here at Oak Park Brewing Company (OPBC) we truly care about great craft beer, but, we care about your health even more. Therefore, we have decided to close our doors for the remainder of the statewide mandated shutdowns of all bars and restaurants across Illinois. While this is the safest decision we could make--keeping both our staff and your health in mind--it does leave our staff of over 20 individuals with jeopardized income.
This has been a huge blow to a large portion of our little rag-tag work family who have made OPBC their full-time job and truly miss slinging great beers, catching up with regular friendly faces, and recommending your out-of-town or newly 21yr old friend shoot Malört because, "it's not THAT bad...!" We are moms, dads, artists, actors, former Empire Carpet Daughters (*ahem* BETH), and a whole slew of other characters. We have all been fortunate to work for an amazing boss, and many of us have been with this brewery since it's beginning. Right now, our futures are a bit up in the air due to Covid-19, and losing a job where we get to serve beer, cocktails, and food we are proud of to people we love, working alongside staff we love, for a boss we love, would be devastating.
The OPBC staff humbly appreciates any virtual gratuities, donations, kind words, love and community support, or even a link share if you, too, have fallen on hard times due to this pandemic. Everything received will be distributed evenly among our entire staff. We are all in this together!
A shout out to the Oak Park community for all the love and support we've received throughout the years: We love you, too! Let's keep this little brewery going!
