The dreams, the drive, the heart, the growth, blood, sweat, tears, support, heartache and victories....
All which have brought these 2 young men and Team from a small community on their way to an amazing experience ahead. Jesus Flores and Xavier Vega both walked into the Canal Street Gym when it first opened in 2010 and never looked back being one of the first members of a forever growing family. Two young men, not really sure what to do with their spare time both took a path that they never thought would lead them where they are today.
It started off as a hobby, a way to stay fit, which later evolved into a lifestyle they couldn't live without. These young men learned to eat, sleep and breath boxing. With the support of The Canal Street Team, family, and community behind them 1,000% they have achieved goals others were to afraid to think about. Representing their community in a positive light, showing other youths you can achieve your dreams no matter the circumstances, now thats what a true leaders qualities consist of. Jesus and Xavier have dominated there biggest challenge now becoming New England Golden Glove Champions, with their next challenge coming up. They have been given the opportunity to compete in the Las Vegas National Golden Gloves Championship. Flores, Vega and The Canal Street Team will need the support of their community to help make this trip a reality for them. Let's once again unite and help make a change and make this trip an amazing experience for the young leaders of our city.
