Help Kyan kick cancer's butt!!!

Hello my darling family and friends. For those of you who don't already know, (I'm sorry I couldn't tell you all personally), my son Kyan, who is 7, has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's B-Cell Burkitt's Lymphoma. There is an aggressive tumour in his head. He started Chemotherapy last week and up to this point he is remarkably well and still in good spirits. This is however, only what they call pre-phase. Lymphoma, and particularly Kyan's tumour, fortunately respond very well... to treatment. Chemo and steroids "should" reduce and eventually destroy it, without invasive surgery or Radiotherapy. We are patients of the Women's and Children's hospital in Adelaide. They have the best team of neuro surgeons, radiologists and staff. They are so thorough. So far Kyan has had 4 CT scans, an MRI, a bone marrow biopsy, 4 lumbar punctures (all of those procedures were under general anaesthetic) and a series of x-rays. We are currently off hospital grounds in private accommodation until he needs to be re-admitted on Tuesday. Hopefully by next week we'll have news on whether we can be housed at the Ronald McDonald apartments. We have no idea at this stage how long we'll be here for. Once we meet with the Oncology team (they had a board meeting last week and presented Kyan's case with all the necessary specialists) I will have some sort of indication about how long the treatment will take. A huge thanks to Aunty Shazz and Stewy Elliott you know how much your generosity means to us all. Thank you in advance Mumma Roz Anderson for returning home to help out and look after our home. So fortunate to have a couple of dear friends here in Adelaide, Janis Merrill, Amanda Dalla-Volta, and most grateful my darling partner Geoff Hurditch is here and making the time a little more bearable to cope with.
