A headstone for mom

My parents were married over 50 years before my Mom passed away in February of 2015. She was a wonderful mother, a great wife, and the best Nana. Her passing left a hole in many people's hearts and lives but probably none more so than my dad's. When we buried her the funeral expenses were huge and she had no life insurance. My dad and I are still working at paying for it. The service was beautiful and done exactly how she wanted it. Sadly we couldn't afford to put a marker on her grave. She always said there was nothing sadder than a grave with no headstone...it was like the family forgot their loved ones. I asked my Dad what he wanted for Christmas. He was quiet and said "nothing, whatever you would spend on me put away for your mom's headstone." Then I saw something I've seen maybe twice in my life...I saw tears in my dad's eyes. I know he feels terrible and I would love to just go put up the marker and surprise him. That however can't be done without help. I hate asking for money, I don't want to be a charity case but sometimes you have to swallow your pride. The 1,500.00 would cover the cheapest marker that we can use in that cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated by my family and me. Thank you all.
