O'Connor Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence has displaced many families and has created hundreds of millions of dollars in damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure.  James and Missy are teachers in the Wilmington area and their home and vehicles were flooded in the aftermath.  They are the type of people who would never ask for help but they would do anything to help their neighbor.  Due to not living in a flood zone, they do not have flood insurance.  Luckily James and Missy were able to move their possessions to the upper levels of their home.

The water level reached 18 inches in their home which means that the lower half of every wall is going to need to be gutted, the flooring will need to be replaced.  To say nothing of cabinetry repair, electrical and possible plumbing damage.  Conservatively, I would estimate damage and repairs to be in excess of 30,000 dollars.  They are currently staying in a neighbors home that is in a slightly better position with respect to elevation.

This fund is to help offset repair costs or any down payments that need to be made for repair loans.  We are hoping they don't need to tap into their retirement to repair their home.  Anything you can give will go a long way into preserving their future.
