O. Brockman’s Top Surgery Recovery Fund

The day has finally come! I am having top surgery on January 29th, 2020!!!
I’ve struggled with my gender identity since I was a child. I have never felt comfortable in literally anything related to women’s clothing or anything my body did since puberty. I felt very hopeless, isolated, and confused for a very long time and didn’t know why. These last two years have been exponential for me in terms of understanding myself and my abilities to navigate unhealthy feelings and behaviors. This year I came out as Non-Binary (they/them/theirs pronouns) and probably trans too - even though i’m still figuring out what that means to me. Top surgery is an important step in my process. This surgery is necessary inorder to alleviate so much of the anxiety, depression, and gender dysphoria I've had for the last 20 years.
This gender-affirming surgery is a major surgery that includes the removal of breast tissue and nipple grafts. After surgery the healing process can take up to 8 weeks until I am fully able to physically resume my day to day activities. While I am thankful for OHP (Oregon Health Plan) to cover the surgery, it does come with setbacks and limitations to qualify. Meaning that I can only make some much $$ in a year! Currently, I work 4 part-time jobs/gigs (I’m so tired) in order to pay bills, rent, food, etc, and save for my recovery funds. I rarely ask for help and feel very vulnerable sharing but this is something that I cannot manage on my own!!
If you can, please donate to my recovery fund! The money will not only support me during my healing process but also contribute to plane tickets for both my sister and partner who are flying out to help take care of me during this very tender time.
