Nyles' University Studies in African Music
Nilegio Raul Cossa, or just Nyles, is a Mozambican musician and dancer from the Hodi Cultural Association.
He needs our support to fulfill his great dream: to achieve an academic degree in African Music, instruments, and performance at the University of Cape Town, considered the best university in Africa. He is just a few steps away from finishing his application for the academic years 2022 and 2023. The College of African Music faculty is very optimistic he can be accepted.
The greatest difficulty in making this dream come true is his financial situation. As he doesn't have a scholarship, he decided to start a fundraiser with the help of the Hodi Cultural Association.
This is what he says about his motivation:
"I emphasize that it will be a great victory and gain for the national and international artistic community and me as well as for the Hodi Cultural Association in particular. If I can graduate, I will be able to serve my community better in the fight for the appreciation and dissemination of African music and instruments that are part of the development of mosaic culture and community. It has always been a great desire to graduate, and this unique opportunity makes me every day more anxious.

The first year costs 168,220 South African Rand, which is about 10,000 EUR or 11,000 USD. For a detailed statement of costs, please see the below document by the University of Cape Town. Wir will have to raise 45,000 Rand (2600 EUR) before November so he can pay the student fees.
