NYCDA Scholarship & Dental Implants

In 2019 I walked into an open casting call for singers, actors, models, and dancers with Arts International. I auditioned for acting and received a callback! My intentions were to go to the showcase and promote myself as a Voice Actress even though it was for Acting. I performed in 3 categories; Tv Film Scene, Commercial, and Monologue. The showcase was in Orlando, FL at the Marriot World Center and my closest friends and family got to witness this amazing opportunity by watching through the live stream. The goal of this showcase was to talk to agents, managers, casting directors... etc in hopes of getting signed or working together. However, because of the concern about my braces... a few of the agents who were interested in me told me to contact them after my braces were off.

Excitingly enough I was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to attend the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts (NYCDA) in New York City! It's a 4-week intensive summer program for Acting! The program starts June 14th - July 9th, 2021. I have the opportunity to take the classes online or in person. The catch is the remaining amount of the tuition is $2500. This is what I need help paying for primarily. I can't use financial aid because I used my loan opportunities when I attended the University of Florida. The Deadline to pay the full amount is May 31st, 2021. This will mean so much to me because not only will I be getting coaching for Acting (a field I will transition into once my braces are off) and I'll be earning college credits BUT I will also be taking a Voice Over class which will be beneficial to my VO Journey! Coaching is very important in this industry.

In March 2019 a co-worker of mine told me about a customer saying that my voice would be great for a cartoon character! Ever since then I've been working towards that goal of being a successful Voice Over Actress! Because of my continuing progression on this goal I have produced my own VO Demos and got a demo professionally produced! I also have a Manager that has been supporting me and we're currently working on me getting signed to an agency for VO. I have gotten the privilege of talking to other VO actors who not only are apart of the largest VO agency in the country in which I want to eventually be apart of BUT I will be getting coaching from them as well! Through those talks with them, they all expressed how important coaching is and how it doesn't stop once you're signed and booking professionally. This is even more reason why I will be attending NYCDA.

However, this Gofundme isn't just for my scholarship. It is also for my dental implants. The remaining amount is for the implants and does not include the amount for the crowns (that I will eventually get) because I don't have an amount yet. Dental implants are the screws inserted into your bone where your missing tooth is located. After the insertion heals then I will look into getting crowns that will screw on top of the implant. To receive the funds for this procedure is SUPER important to me because not only will I no longer have an issue with wearing braces and others focusing on my teeth BUT it will instill even more confidence in me with moving forward in life and my potential acting career. I currently have the premium dental insurance through Delta Dental which pays half of the first implant and partial for the second which will be active come June 1st, right before I go to New York. My Periodontist provided my payment plan for the implants which I included in my youtube video.

I appreciate any and every kind of support! Any amount helps towards my goal!
I have faith that everything will work out in the end. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my story!
