NYC sculptor struggling with kidney failure.

Our friend Michael Lawrence is a gifted sculptor and alumni of the Pratt Institute with decades of experience handcrafting everything from toys, to ornaments, to stop-motion animation characters. The work samples uploaded to this page are just a few examples of Michael’s creativity and talent which he has always shared so generously. Like too many other artists pursuing their passions and working free-lance in New York City, a sudden misfortune has had a magnified impact on his life as Michael has recently been afflicted with a cascading series of health emergencies, including (but not limited to):
• kidney failure
• heart disease
• hypertension

A social worker is helping with a health services plan but it takes time to implement.
Dialysis, hospital stays, his health issues and complications like edema, etc. make it impossible for him to work despite Michael’s desire to work and his driven creative work ethic.
Any donation is a lifeline, temporary but vital in covering the cost of living in NYC while Michael transitions to managed care.
Due to the gravity of his current condition, his three cats are being cared for by volunteers while they are waiting to to be adopted into new homes. Timothy and Elise have been taking care of so many things for Michael, and are paying the bills and handling the donation funds for him.
